- Try this! Compare the speed of the plastic marble with the steel marble at the same place on the track. Students will be amazed to see that the speed is the same!
FAQ's
Q: When I release the marble from different heights to see if it will make it all the way around the loop, how do I determine if the marble actually achieves a "clean catch" at the end?
A: A "clean catch" happens when the marble lands firmly in the catcher, with no clicking sound that happens when the marble hits the wood before catching. If the clicking sound occurs, you know that the marble didn't quite make it in the catcher.
