Straight Track
This elegant track allows one meter of straight-line travel. Steel and plastic marbles of different masses roll down the track. The straight track is an exceptional platform for your students to explore motion and Newton's laws. The CPO
photogates provide precise speed and acceleration measurements. Repeatability is typically within 0.0002 seconds (0.1% or better). A non-slip rubber track ensures an even rolling surface for the marbles.
The end of the track can be rotated to catch the marble or let it roll off. This provides a perfect setup for a classic trajectory experiment. Students place the track on a table with a photogate at the end to measure the velocity. From the velocity (speed and angle), they are able to predict where the marble hits the floor with impressive accuracy.
